How does one go about learning to use the vinyl cutter?
Thanks!
Brian
I'll ask our education team to see about putting a class together. If it can't wait, there are members who might be willing to do one-on-one training.
No big rush, but I foresee some projects that might be appropriate a month or two from now. Is a manual available? My most pressing need is to understand what it can do. Also, where is it? If I just knew make and model I could probably answer much of this for myself.
It's in Unit 12 (the crafting area). It's a US Cutter MH 34". The software is "Sir Cuts A Lot Pro". We also have a Cricut, which I haven't used.
Just to round out some information for future reference for people searching the forum: The manual for the Vinyl Cutter is at: https://www.uscutter.com/static/PDFs/MH_Manual_09172019.pdf Generally it only cuts vinyl and a limited number of kinds of stencils/masks. Vinyl comes in many different forms, see page 17 of the manual. There is a question about the stencils/masks in that another document on the site says that the MH series does not handle sandblasting masks... yet, page 17 lists one. Our Cricut is model CRV001 and appears to be the Cricut Personal. It cuts more kinds of materials, but is much smaller and is not computer controlled. Here is a link to the manuals for it: https://help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009429074-User-Manuals-older-machines-
The machines are getting older, it might be a good idea for FCCH to stash copies of the PDFs somewhere safe.
