Monthly Hub Talk: How Silicon, Exponential Scaling have changed our lives

Summary:

Silicon technology has changed the world in fundamental ways – some good, some bad.  As we look toward the future, how will technology enable us to both: live fuller lives, and abstract away basic things humans have done for our entire history?  This talk will look at silicon technology, show key technological advancements thanks to Moore’s Law, and discuss the questions we need to grapple with as we look to the future (ethics, nature, how humans connect, and more).

About Patty Kummrow:

Patty is a Vice President and the GM of the Ethernet Networking Division at Intel Corporation.  She leads the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of Ethernet Network Adapters, Controllers, Switch Silicon, along with next generation solutions used to accelerate networking, storage and network security in data centers.  She has two decades of experience in CPU design and technical leadership, and has led teams developing Intel processors for data center, networking, storage, and autonomous driving applications.  Patty holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas and a M.S. in technology management from Lehigh University.
