Live, On-line Laser Training

This is an on-line training session, conducted over Zoom, that will provide new members that want to use the Creator Hub's laser machines with the knowledge to use our machines safely and effectively. After taking this class, members will need to schedule a short (half-hour) in-person hands-on session with either the teacher or another experienced Hub volunteer. Once the hands-on session has been successfully completed, the member will be able to operate our lasers. 

This on-line class will cover the following:

• How a laser cutter works
• Safe and unsafe materials for laser cutting and engraving
• Preparing designs for the laser
• The basics of the laser control software, Lightburn
• The procedure to turn on and off the lasers and supporting equipment
• Adjusting laser focus, power and speed
• A demonstration of creating a design from start to finish
