We all know how frustrating it is to get to the hub and find the piece of equipment we were planning to use is either not working or a mess from the last person using it not cleaning up after themselves.
STEPPING ON SOAPBOX
There are a few things that we can do to be better to help the next person.
if the piece of equipment is broken/not functioning as it should, please take the time to:
1) Notify the shop boss via email. It makes their jobs so much easier to know that when they come into the hub they will need to work on a specific piece of equipment. Please include as many details as possible as how/why the piece of equipment failed. That also gives them the opportunity to research the issue and get appropriate parts.
2) post to the appropriate forum so others are aware of the faulty equipment.
3) place a note on the equipment. A little more info than “not working” would be appreciated.
CLEANUP AFTER USE.
This seems like a given but everyone seems to forget that this is a shared space. In the dirty areas of the hub it is especially important to keep the floor and and equipment free of debris. Dirty floors add to the trip/safety hazards.
lastly, putting the tools, equipment, and waste where they belong, makes it easier for all of us be able to come to the hub and Do what we all want to do. CREATE fun stuff.
if we all do our part in keeping the space organized and clean (which is no fun for most of us) we can make this communal worksoace great!

Nice bit of advice Karl.
Also, there is an issue reporting form available on the docent computer in the office. I don't want to post the link here to avoid spam.
