Prusa Axis Shift

I've seen two instances where the Prusa jumps about an inch or so in one axis part way through a print. The first time was mid to late March (Y axis) and the second time was today (X axis).

Have others seen this and if so, have you seen it correlate to anything? I have not seen any correlations as it has been pretty infrequent.

Sounds like it may be binding on something.

The picture I attached from the assembly guide shows that the cable should be tied into the top of the controller box with a zip-tie.  This was not how I found it when I repaired it and neglected to check the assembly guide.  My guess is that the cable is laying down from gravity and getting caught on the bed or bed cable.  I had this happen a few months back where the two cables were getting caught up on each other with the zip-ties so I cut them off.  Maybe the real problem was that the extruder cable slipped out of the top of the controller and the cables should never rub against each other.

The next time I'm in, I'll secure the cable in place to make sure the extruder cable does not sag.  Before I saw this assembly step, I was thinking of adding a bungee cord to hold the cable up.  Let's just say that the cable management system in the Mini is superior.

If you're OK with it, I will take care of securing the cabling. I may be in there today.

Last week Wednesday I pushed the cable into the body and secured it with a new zip-tie.  So far so good as the cable stands up and should not get hung up.
