Alas, I'm not in a position to teach a welding class, but very interested in taking one as well. Also willing to pay. Thanks!

Hi guys, I am Randy, the shop boss for welding.  I know how to weld but I don't feel qualified to teach a class as I learned by doing.  I am willing to take some time to meet one on one to see if we can get you started in the right direction.  I am kind of booked up till after Christmas.  I do work as a docent at the Hub on Thursdays 2 to 8pm.  I can stay a little later if that works.

    Hi Randy,

Thanks for the generous offer! I'd love to take you up on it. I too am booked through the New Year but will stop by some Thursday when you are on docent-duty. Best regards,

    Ed

I am new to the group but may be able to help. I also am not a professional welder but do a lot at home from time to time and can probably get you started for stick and mig and some gas welding. I am not sure how we are supposed to contact each other but I will watch this post for information. In general I would prefer you use my shop only because I know my equipment and have plenty of scrap to practice on.

I am interested in learning how to weld. It would be a very good addition to my glass studio.

Let me know how to get in touch with whoever is willing to teach this skill.

    Hi Daniel,

I just noticed your reply. As I said I am also new to this. My regular email is gfatton@yahoo.com and I live over by Windsor. If you send me an email, I will direct you to some good welding links I have found. I believe your background with glass may be a good intro to metal. While many people dismiss gas welding today, remember it was the industrial choice for a long time.  Send me an email and we can discuss how to get you started. Gene Fatton
